Stevia?

Annette, this one's also for you...Stevia vs Sugar?

  1. That's an interesting question. Usually people ask about the difference between Stevia and Splenda :)

Okay so here's the thing. Avoidance of all things white (except people haha) is a good idea for EVERYONE because white flour, sugar, rice, and pasta is so void of nutrients and is completely over processed. If we're going to put calories into our bodies, they should have some benefit to us - they add nutrients we need to function or give us fiber, those kinds of things.

With the exception of aspartame,my suggestion would be to take any natural sweetener over white sugar. My daughter April likes the organic cane sugar I buy in her coffee and it's unprocessed like the white stuff. The granuales are larger so it's not suitable for ALL types of baking. It depends what you are using sugar for as well - is the Stevia vs Sugar question about what to use for baking? The various sweeteners on the market have different effects on your final baked product so that's a consideration as well.

So tell me girls.....what do you use white sugar for? Then I can make suggestions.

  2. The goal is to reduce or eliminate sugar and not to use artifical sweetners so Stevia would be a good choice?
